The body’s cells react to different frequencies of light – a good example is you go outside in the sunshine, your skin is exposed to ultraviolet light and you get a suntan. By using light from a different part of the spectrum – near infra-red and visible red light – we are able to stimulate and enhance the activity of the cells within the body that are responsible for reducing pain and repairing damaged tissue.
Laser therapy is safe, with very few contra-indications, totally non-thermal and can be used to treat a wide variety of conditions – including torn muscles, broken bones, tendon injuries, wounds and scars, dermatitis etc. It is in regular use within top sports teams and is widely used by physical therapists practising in veterinary medicine.
