Preparing for Your Appointment

What to Wear to Your Appointment

We recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing to your appointment.

During your session, we may need to examine how your body moves or access specific areas that are causing symptoms. Clothing that allows easy movement makes this process smoother and more comfortable for you.

Sports or activewear is often ideal. Items such as leggings, shorts, or loose tops allow us to assess movement and treat effectively. Jeans or restrictive clothing can sometimes make assessment or treatment more difficult, but we will always work respectfully with what you are wearing.

If access to an area is needed, this is usually achieved by rolling clothing up rather than removing it. Any request to remove an item of clothing will always be explained clearly and done only with your consent.

Your comfort is always the priority.

What to Bring With You

If you have any previous reports, scans, or medical letters that relate to your current concern, these can be helpful to bring along.

For some patients — particularly those involved in sport or regular training — it can also be useful to bring your usual trainers or footwear. This allows us to understand how you interact with the ground and how this may relate to your symptoms.

You don’t need to bring anything special beyond this. Anything that helps tell the story of what has brought you to the appointment today can be useful, but if you’re unsure, don’t worry — we can always discuss this together.

Arriving Early & Parking Information

We recommend arriving 5–10 minutes before your appointment.

This allows time to park comfortably, settle in, and prepare for your session. Occasionally there may be a short form to complete, and arriving early ensures this can be done without feeling rushed.

You are welcome to relax, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, and take a moment to settle into the calm atmosphere before your appointment begins.
