Immune support: Get ready for winter

Whatever the winter has in store for us, it is best to be prepared and have our body health in optimum condition. We encourage our team to keep their Vitamin D levels high throughout the winter period and the easiest way to do that is through Intramuscular injection (into the arm).

Amy is a practising A&E nurse and works with us at Livelong to deliver cosmetic, aesthetic, IV and IM treatments. You are in safe and gentle hands when it comes to IV and IM treatments. She can tailor your treatment to your specific needs and if you would like we can arrange for a blood test to be taken so that we can look at what Vitamin treatments might benefit your body at the presenting point in time. Alternatively, you can approach your GP for a health check, including a blood test for their recommendation of any vitamin deficiency you could benefit from amending and Amy will happily advise on the best IV or IM treatment combination.

Vitamin D and COVID

Since 2021 studies have consistently shown that low vitamin D levels raise your risk of COVID while higher baseline levels and/or supplementation lower all risks by 1.5 to three times. Data shows that vitamin D supplementation lowers your risk of a positive test, speeds viral clearance, slows the spread of infection, and lowers your risk of severe infection, hospitalisation and death. What is the difference between oral Vitamin D and delivery by IM?

Research has shown that both methods can be effective. With oral consumption of Vitamin D, you will need to take tablets consistently over time to begin to influence your baseline. For those who are approaching the winter months with a deficiency in Vitamin D, IM injection ensures effective delivery straight into the bloodstream ensuring maximum absorption.
